After triumphing over two thousand international contestants, Fletcher Elkins was one of the 12 mixologists to make it to the final round of Masters of the Craft in Washington D.C.
Fletcher has been with The Westin Charlotte for three years and her passion for mixology began after working as a server for years. She wanted to be in full control of the product she was serving so she looked to friends in the industry to teach her about mixology, balance and flavor profiles.
Elkins says that in her years of bartending, the two most important things that she has learned is to be humble, and not to forget that at the end of the day, bartending is all about creating a memorable experience for the guest.
Each finalist submitted a cocktail recipe for the Mater’s of the Craft recipe book. Fletcher’s submission was the Peachy Queen, her take on a Sidecar:
1.5 oz. Hennessey VSOP
1 oz. rosé
0.5 oz. dry vermouth
0.5 oz. lemon juice
1 barspoon peach pureé
Shake & strain into coupe
Top with champagne
Garnished with a lemon twist
